Five carnivorous traps

Five carnivorous traps

I have worked to five illustrations of carnivorous plants. I discovered that this plants use five types of trapping mechanism, so I have chosen one plant for each trap.

I’m fascinated by these plants and the most beautiful ones for me are Sarracenia
Juthatip and Nepenthes ‘Bloody Mary’ (you can’t see in this project). These plants have the same type of trapping mechanism and I have chosen to rapresent Sarracenia for now.

In the gallery below you will see:
Sarracenia Juthatip.
Trapping mechanism: Pitfall traps.
Drosera capensis
Trapping mechanism: Flypaper traps.
Dionaea muscipula
Trapping mechanism: Snap traps.
Genlisea hispidula
Trapping mechanism: Bladder traps.
Utricularia vulgaris
Trapping mechanism: Lobster-pot traps

Fun fact:
Passiflora is considered a semi-carnivorous plant, but it is not known if it eats insects.
